Potentially Suspicious

If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear? We say to ourselves in collective reassurance. In this crowd we remain anonymous.

The moment you will realize that your behaviour and thoughts became suspicious, when you became a threat, then it might be too late. It is dangerous to think ‚But, who cares about me?‘

Potentially Suspicious is questioning the mutation of the idea of the terrorist: We are all already suspects – Defined by the constant existence of an undefinable threat, we are all being monitored, categorized and filtered through programmed algorithms, replacing ethics. Technology makes it easier to monitor and record, to filter and select.

According to US security we all fit the definitions of terrorists. Did you repetitively touch your face? Did you ever think about conspiracy theory? Do you talk about individual liberties? Do you want to make the world a better place? Yes, you are suspicious!

On the MI5 website it is stated: ‚Terrorists may be behaving differently to how you‘ve known them to behave in the past.‘ – So be aware. The very idea of the terrorist is mutating.
